Beside The Bridge: New Music

You may, or may have not, read some of my other blog posts *I wouldn't assume* but I've spoken quite a bit about a band from Sweden called Beside The Bridge who I think are getting more popular by the month. After the success of their last single, 'Hate My Life,' we've all been waiting a LONG time for some new music and we've been teased everyday with pictures and videos of the boys in the studio - there's only so patient a fangirl can be.

So, you can imagine how excited I was when they posted this on Feb 20th on their Twitter:

So What's Been Done was released last night at midnight! I'm too much of an old lady to actually manage to stay awake until midnight to hear it when it was actually released so I got a nice surprise when I woke up this morning!

I listened to and was pleasantly surprised but I think it's because I didn't try and have any thoughts on what it was going to be like.

It's very different to the other singles that they have released because it's a much slower ballad than the likes of I Hate My Life and Weigh You Down. The lyrics are sentimental and relatable but still has that pop punk feel throughout. But, what I really like is that the song has a beautiful melody that makes it so easy to listen too and allows Joel's vocals to really shine all the way through, without the distractions of a heavy melody.

That doesn't mean that its boring and that you can't hear any of the amazing playing by Charlie, Niklas, Ludvig and Rasmus. The entire song is a nice blend of melody, vocals and effects which make it perfect for the chart because it has something for everyone. I have wanted to hear an original ballad from this band for a long time and they haven't disappointed me at all!

I am so proud of what the boys have achieved and I am so happy to have found them pretty much more than two years ago, I can't wait to see where this band goes and I know that they have a huge future ahead of them.
