Music I'm Obsessed With Atm

Hi my lil' fairies

I know it's been over 3 months since I've written on this blog and I feel so bad to say that I've been pretty distracted and occupied. Also, I've kind of gone down a route in music where I'm listening to a lot of the same stuff to keep me motivated to do other stuff! However, even though I can't promise you that these posts will be as consistent as I want but I'm going to try and do at least one every 2 weeks for now, until I've got more of a routine and know what I'm doing with my life #existentialcrisis - I mean it turns out that finishing uni means I have to actually get my life sorted in some way.

So, to get the boll rolling again, I thought I'd update you with the stuff I've got on full blast pretty much all the time so you know where I stand and what you can expect-ish!

State Champs
If you've had a look through my other posts, you've probably seen quite a bit of State Champs on this blog and that's because they are probably one of my favourite bands ever and have been for a while. Sometimes bands release albums and, over time, I just get bored. But, this literally been the opposite for State Champs. After releasing their 2nd album Living Proof earlier this year, I think I've been listening to even more State Champs than ever before (even more than when I went to see them last year in London). The guys in State Champs really know who they are as artists and, even though they've evolved, they re still fundamentally the same band with the same amazing songs. If Rocky's music sets me up for work, State Champs sets me up for the day with their high tempo, catchy af and unique music - I mean they even get me a bit emotional too, see they're definitely not one dimensional! State Champs are a band that I could listen to forever and I would go and see them live a million times over!

With Confidence
I do love me an Aussie accent and I do love me some good ol' pop punk. So, when you put the two of them together, you get With Confidence! After all the controversy earlier this year, Jayden Seeley,  Inigo Del Carmen and Joshua Brozzesi came back with a bang (and a really awesome new album called Love and Loathing. Like State Champs, what I love about With Confidence is their ability to keep a sense of pure pop punk but keeping their sound diverse and current. Like I can rock out to Voldemort (which as a Harry Potter fan made me so excited) but I'll cry and belt my heart out to Long Night. I also think they might have some of the most simplest but coolest videos I've ever watched, I mean how can a band get any better than that! They also seem like the coolest guys in the world and, who knows, maybe one day I'll get to interview them... Whatever happens, the future's so bright for With Confidence and they're the present and future!

One Ok Rock
Over the last few months, I've been trying and failing to learn Japanese because I just love the country and it's culture. I started listening to One Ok Rock to see if this would help but I just managed to fall in love with their stuff. The guys in this band perfectly combine pop and rock and balance English and Japanese to make something that really is music to my ears *bad pun I know*. Even though I'd love all their stuff to be pure Japanese, the fact that they've got English songs makes me think that they know what they want to do in the future - they want to expand. By doing this and touring with some massive bands like 5 Seconds of Summer, I know there's big things for this band and it's so rare to find bands who are so raw and with so much potential!

Rocky Romero
This is a little bit of a weird choice but it links to my new obsession with wrestling so bare with me here! I've never really liked rap music but something about wrestler/ songwriter/ producer/ overall awesome guy Rocky Romero just made it so easy to listen too. I mean his stuff on Spotify is literally the only stuff I listen too when I'm on my way to work, I guess you could say it's my hype music. What I love about it is that he combines normal rap music with the world of wrestling, in particular New Japan Pro Wrestling - I mean even I find myself singing along to his stuff and like understanding what he's saying (even when it's in Japanese). As well as releasing songs on Spotify, Rocky also wrote two of his own entrance theme's and both are just so catchy (I mean evening wrestling legend Jushin Thunder Liger loves it). Even though Rocky's stuff might be more appealing to wrestling fans, it's still just great rap music so I really recommend it. Don't think of it as wrestling music, because it isn't. Listen to it as if it's something you'd hear on the radio!

Until next time my musical chums,

Bye for Now
xx
