My Go To Disney Songs

Hi my lil' Fairies,

It's been 7 months since Disney World and from this post, and my last one, you can tell that I'm still not over it - It's like Disney is my ex-boyfriend and I refused to let go. This means that my Disney playlist is probably getting played at least 6 times a week (maybe even 7 on some weeks). I've already written about Disney Music but I've decided to be more specific so, here's Sonal's Top Go To Disney Songs

1. I See The Light - Tangled
This might just have to be my first dance if I ever manage to get married. It's one of the world's cutest love songs and this film is just so romantic and hilarious. The idea that Rapunzel's singing about her love for new experiences and Flynn is singing about his love for her, shows the not so typical love story. It's her desire to experience the world around her that allows her to meet her cheeky and naughty soul mate.

2. Go The Distance - Hercules
Ever since I watched the Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom, this song has been in my head 24/7. I think that Hercules, and it's songs, are definitely some of the most underrated in Disney franchise. It's bold, inspiring and emotional - I mean it even gets me motivated to do something!

3. One Jump Ahead - Aladdin
This is another underrated song because we all know that Whole New World is the most famous song from Aladdin. However, this song is pure joy and gives Aladdin a proper backstory with his cheekiness. We see why Aladdin is a 'street rat' and how his life experiences are going to affect the rest of the film. It's pure Disney and that's what I love about it.

4. Reflection - Mulan
This is probably one of the more emotional songs within this list and it's not about romance, it's a young girl scared of showing who she really is because of what her parents have decided she should be. Mulan is the true badass of all the Disney princesses and is feminism personified. She has all these reservations about living her dream but does it anyone. Her braveness and courage is something all little girls and boys should aspire too.

5. How Far I'll Go - Moana
Moana is the only film on this list I haven't seen but it's on my things to watch because of what I've heard on the soundtrack. The melody fits perfectly within the setting of the film and Auli'i Cravalho's voice is so pure and angelic that I feel like I'm transported to an island far away where the sea is hitting my feet.

6. Part of your World - The Little Mermaid
I may sing this nearly as much as I breathe at the moment. It's such a Disney classic and its so innocent but relatable, like we've all wanted to go somewhere new but have been held back for some reason or another. I love the sparkly, magical and light introduction and it just stays so serene and melodic the entire way through.

7. Touch the Sky - Brave
From the calm and serene to the downright catchy and Celtic, this song really has the perfect melody for a film set in Scotland. I always feel happy when this song comes on and it feels like a good bit of female empowerment because Merida is a kick ass tribe leader who isn't taking any shit from anybody! #girlpower

So, here are my favourite songs but it was so hard to just pick this amount. However, if you want a full playlist, here's my full Disney Playlist on Spotify - Enjoy :-)

I hope you enjoy it as much as me!

Until next time my musical chums,

Bye for Now
xx
